Hi. I am Russell from the Friendly City OGREs in Athens, TN. Our little chapter is in dire straights. For reasons no one will explain to me, over half our members left towards the end of last year. I have been working hard to find gamers, but in such a small town its very hard. (Despite its nickname, this town isn't very friendly at all, expecially to "different" people like gamers) We are down to 3 members, myself, my wife, and our good friend Josh.
So why am I writing this. Can't say for sure. Frustration and depression I guess. I have been gaming for 30 years and now I am not. Wjay do we do? I can't afford to move. I have to kids under the age of 5 so I can't travel to Knoxville, Cleveland, or Chattanooga to game.
Hooper has been talking to people he knows in the larger cities but so far no luck. Let me say publicly that I appreciate his help.
I see other chapters websites and groups and I get envious. Anyone with a good close gaming group is truly blessed.
Let me stop now before I start to whine. If you know anyone in Southeast Tennessee who's looking for a group, let me know.
