Prospective members of [[Organization of Gamers & Roleplaying Enthusiasts|O.G.R.E.s]] may have many questions and concerns when the idea of joining as a new [[chapter]] comes up.  This page exists to help answer some of the most common questions.

==Why OGREs?==
The abbreviation OGREs, standing for Organization of Gamers & Roleplaying Enthusiasts, has been around the gaming community since at least the 1980s as an informal moniker.  A group in Las Vegas started calling themselves the [[Sin City Ogres]] in May of 2005, and since then it has been adopted and formalized as an actual title.

==How much does it Cost?==
Membership in O.G.R.E.s is absolutely free.  Some [[chapter]]s do choose to have their own dues, which may go towards rent or cost for the host location, food for the night, or even new game materials or entrance fees to conventions.  Check with your [[Chapter Coordinator]] to see if dues is something you want or don't want to do.

==What Happens to my Regular Gaming Group?==
Nothing!  You'll still be the same guys and gals gaming together - but now you'll have an official moniker and be part of a group much larger than any one tabletop session.  You'll be a central focal point for your gaming community and potential recruitment of new gamers may skyrocket.

==Who is Oggie?==
Oggie is our affectionate nickname for our mascot, [[Oggie the Ogre]].  He can be seen in our myriad logos, and he was created by a member of the first [[chapter]]: [[Sin City Ogres]].  It is also a lot easier to say Oggie than his full name: Ogswald Theodore Henry Eddington Ogre ''(Oggie T.H.E. Ogre)''.

==What is the Point?==
There are many.  They include, but are not limited to, the following:
*networking gamers together;
*promoting all types of gaming, regardless of dividing factors that hinder other gaming groups ''(such as the Camarilla's lack of non-[[White Wolf]] games, or RPGA's lack of non-[[Wizards of the Coast]] games, etc.)'';
*to advocate the advancement of our hobby as a fun and family-friendly group activity that can increase cognitive functioning and reasoning;
*to establish a good source of playtesting for RPG companies, which gives said companies feedback for their games and our members access to unreleased games and the promotional materials associated with it;
*to have fun
